Remarks

Tsumasaburo Bando left Toa Kinema and establishes independent production. Moved from the rented Shochiku Shimogamo to Uzumasa in May 1926. Established partnership with Universal Pictures Japan in September 1926. Established Ban-tsuma Tachibana Universal Rengo Eiga. Contract with Universal Pictures Japan was terminated in May 1927. June 1930 Bando Tsumasaburo Production withdrew. Studio renamed as Shochiku Uzumasa Studio.

In June 1930, Shochiku took over management after Bando Tsumasaburo Production withdrew. Teikoku Kinema Nagase Studio burned down in late September. Established Teikoku Kinema Uzumasa Studio in October.

Remarks

Established with capital from Shochiku in August 1931. Masaichi Nagata disbanded Daiichi Eiga-sha and joined the company with his staff in 1936. Nagata was appointed as the executive manager. Company’s ghost stories (Kaidan), Tanuki (raccoon) series, and other entertainment films for the masses became major hits. Merged with Daiei through wartime integration in 1942. Changed the name to Daiei Kyoto Daini Studio.

Remarks

Began operation in September 1947. Chiezo Kataoka and Utaemon Ichikawa left Daiei to join Toyoko Eiga Kyoto Studio in 1949. Established Toei Studios Kyoto with the merger of Oizumi Eiga and Tokyo Eiga Haikyu in April 1951.
