Remarks

The Period Drama Department from Nikkatsu Taishogun Studio moved to this studio in December 1927. The Modern Drama Department was also moved and an opening ceremony was held in April 1928. Daisuke Ito and Denjiro Okochi became a big hit. Merged with Daiei through wartime integration in 1942.

Remarks

Wartime integration merged Shinko Kinema, Nikkatsu Production Division, and Daito Eiga to create Daiei in 1942. Rashomon – directed by Akira Kurosawa won the Golden Lion at the Venice International Film Festival in 1950. Gate of Hell – directed by Teinosuke Kinugasa won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes International Film Festival in 1955. Closed and sold in 1986.
