Remarks

Yoshio Osawa of Osawa Group establishes a post-production studio at Kaiko no Yashiro in 1928. Osawa Group Film Department founded J.O. Studio in April 1932. Completed construction of rental sound film studio in March 1933. Production company Uzumasa Hassei Eiga was established within the studio in April 1933. The company became independent from Osawa Group and converted to a joint-stock company in December 1934. Merged with PCL Film Productions and Toho Film Distribution in Tokyo to form Toho in August 1937.

Remarks

Toho Eiga founded through a merger in August 1937. Name of studio changed to Toho Eiga Kyoto Studio, and Chojiro Hayashi (Kazuo Hasegawa) joined the company in October. Hayashi was attacked in November. Closed in 1941.
